A Word from the Founder
To keep it, before it is lost.
A gold-thread obi is made from genuine gold leaf and gold thread. The artisans who can make that gold thread and gold leaf need more than ten years to master the craft — and today, almost no one remains to carry it on. Only a handful of makers are left in Japan, and most of them are over seventy.
Left as it is, the gold obi — a precious Japanese tradition — will disappear. That is why we chose to frame the obi and keep it as art: a treasure your family can pass down. May this fading Japanese tradition be carried into the future.
